CRTO History

Small sentence……

We’ve highlighted key events from where the profession started through 1994, when the CRTO first officially opened its doors, to now. There might be a few memories in there for the Respiratory Therapists and undoubtedly, something you hadn’t heard before.  Take a step back to explore some significant landmarks in the Respiratory Therapy (RT) profession, CRTO achievements and some fun facts and events that were going on at the time.

CRTO’s 20th Anniversary

The CRTO celebrated it’s 20th Anniversary in regulation with the INSPIREvolution Conference open to all Members of the CRTO on November 21, 2014.

Respiratory Therapy Profession Turned 50

2014 The Respiratory Therapy profession turned 50 this year and the CRTO celebrates 20 years of self-regulation in Ontario.  The Controlled Acts regulation was amended permitting RTs to do tracheostomy tube changes for patients with stomas greater and less than 24 hours old.
